Huefner Family History Site

This site serves to share history of the Huefner family with family members throughout the world.  The Huefner family traces its history to Northern Bavaria, Germany.  Other family lines also originate in Germany.   Most of our ancestors came to the United States between roughly 1840 to 1880, initially settling in Buffalo, NY.

Managed by Ron Huefner, the site deals with both the Huefner and Hiemenz (my mother’s family) lines, as well as their ancestors’ lines (Doetterl, Weis. Kippes, Selbert, Weisenheimer, Haas).  Content will include family history by ancestral lines, family stories, memorials, photos and burial information.  Other members of the family are encouraged to submit material for possible posting.

WHAT’S NEW: Six new family stories:  “The Buffalo Bath Houses,” The Blizzard of 1977,” The Con Man.” “The World Travelers,” “The Snowstorm Twins,” and “A Mother to All” by Sandy Eichelberger.  Also, the beginnings of a new section on Family Histories of eight family lines back to my great-grandparents.  Introduction and three ancestry lines posted, more to come.  POSTED DECEMBER 2025.
